Our team carried out a full inspection and confirmed the failure of the existing damp proof course. As a result, moisture was travelling upward through the masonry, a typical sign of rising damp in older properties.
Prior to treatment, the internal walls showed clear symptoms of damp. Plaster had degraded, decorative finishes were failing, and salts had built up within the wall structure. These conditions are common in homes where moisture has been present for extended periods.
To resolve the issue, we installed a new chemical damp proof course (DPC) into the affected walls. This creates a barrier that prevents moisture from rising further. Contaminated plaster was removed to eliminate hygroscopic salts and allow the wall to properly dry.
A specialist waterproof render system was then applied to ensure long-term protection and a clean internal finish.
Following treatment, the walls were fully restored and protected against further moisture ingress. The internal surfaces are now dry, stable, and ready for redecoration.
